One person has been taken to hospital with moderate to serious injuries following an incident near Te Puke.

"Police were notified of a person injured at an address on Kaituna River Road," says a Police spokesperson.

Police say that limited information is available at this stage.

A SunLive readers say that a helicopter attended the scene and that the road is closed.

"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances," says a Police spokesperson.
