UPDATE: One person has died following an incident at a rural property on Number 3 Road, Te Puke.

The incident was reported to police at 1.40pm.

"Emergency services attended but sadly, the person has died at the scene," says a police spokesperson.

"Police are making enquiries in relation to the death on behalf of the Coroner, who will release their finding in due course."

A number of people are reporting a large emergency services response in Te Puke.

One SunLive reader says fire, police and ambulance were seen "screaming up No. 3 Road in Te Puke".

"More and more sirens for 20-30 mins now."

Another reader says; "something big up No.3 Road".

"Heaps of police fire ambulance and a rescue chopper."

A police spokepserson says they are attending an incident on No 3 Road in Te Puke.

"There is limited information at this stage."

A St John spokesperson says they were called to the incident at 1.32pm.

"One ambulance, one helicopter and a rapid response vehicle have responded to the scene."
