UPDATE 1.09PM: One person has received serious injuries following a crash in Tauranga this afternoon.
Police received a report of a single vehicle collision with a barrier arm at the entrance to a premises on Windermere Drive.
A police spokesperson says the driver of the vehicle was trapped and had to be removed by the fire service.
"Fire services and Police responded to the crash to cut the barrier arm free and remove the sole-occupant from the vehicle.
"The occupant is reported to have serious injuries."
Fire and Emergency New Zealand northern fire communications shift manager Peter Stevenson says the driver appears to have hit a barrier.
"It seems the driver has hit a barrier near the Windermere campus.
"We are currently using rescue equipment to get the patient out of the vehicle."
Two ambulances were also at the scene of the crash.
