Andre Vegas Magician and Illusionist and his partner Linda Lopez will be performing their winning family-fun magic and illusion show at Trustpower Arena for one day only this month.

Andre and Linda won New Zealand's Best Children/Family Act award at Magicana in Auckland recently.

Magicana is a day of fellowship and competitions held by the International Brotherhood of Magicians. After a 24-year hiatus, Magicana Day was held in Auckland over the June long weekend with attendance by around 80 magicians from across New Zealand.

Magicians had ten to twelve minutes to captivate judges with their best illusions and magic, per award category. Andre says it was exciting picking up the award as most of their work is family shows and it was "quite good to get recognised as the best Children/Family act".

Andre has also performed on the TV Show New Zealand's Got Talent and was the resident Illusionist at Rainbows End for three years.

Andre and Linda will be performing their winning family-fun magic and illusion show at Trustpower Arena for one day only on Thursday, July 22.

When asked what families can expect Vegas says 'Some old favourites and some new surprises.

"Of course, it's going to involve the doves, chocolate the rabbit, the chihuahua and audience participation, but there are also a few new effects that crowds in the Bay of Plenty won't have seen before."

Shane Gillum, Bay Venues programmes manager said the last show Andre did in 2020 had a great turnout.

'We are excited to be bringing Andre back by popular demand these school holidays' with tickets starting from $8, it's a great, low-cost activity for the school holidays," says Shane.

There are two show sessions on Thursday, July 22, one at 11am and the other at 2pm. Shows run for 45-minutes and following the 2pm show there will be adventure play equipment set up for kids to enjoy including the mini ninja warrior course for another $5 per child.
