More than 200 homes are without power in the Bay of Plenty.

Powerco confirms that around 224 homes in the Whakamarama area are currently without power.

Residents in Te Puna have also stated they are without power.

Power was lost at around 8.47am and is currently expected to be restored by 3pm.
