At least two similar incidents in our street. Was told by a worker that the boxes are "aging" and there will be more of the same. I see people sitting on these at times - could be a shocking experience? Question - does the power trip out when these things catch fire? If not, you wouldn't want water anywhere near!

The power doesn't usually trip out unless the fault manages to make a direct short circuit.... dry powder can sometimes kill the flames, but reignition is common until the power is isolated or the fault blows itself clear of any earhting!!
