Update:

Fire and Emergency NZ are fighting a large blaze on the beach at Walkers Rd, Matata.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson says the fire is 20m by 100m and is contained.

Two Fire and Emergency units are on the scene containing the blaze and two more are on their way, says the spokesperson.

A large fire is being reported near Walkers Road in Matata.
