Reports are coming in of a large scrub fire in Pukehina.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says there is a large fire near a house on Old Coach Road.

"Firefighters have been called."

Fire and Emergency New Zealand northern fire communications shift manager Kaisey Cook says the fire is 30m x 30m in size.

"There two fire trucks and a tanker at the scene."
