Maybe I can help some of those frustrated people who have unwelcome cat visits in their gardens. We cleared a garden near our front door and this had immediate appeal to a neighbourhood cat who left a very awful smelling deposit. (I wonder what they could have been feeding it!)
A net over the garden worked but the brute then moved a few feet to our lawn. We then tried some $18 sandy repellent which soon vanished in the rains. Next move was we cut into small lumps some pumice we had and then went to the Warehouse and bought a litre container of citronella oil for $6. The pumice went into an old yoghurt container which we covered with the oil and then spread the lumps around the lawn with a pair of pliers. We had to ‘recharge' our pumice several times and move it to different parts of the lawn but it worked. We had it return once months later but it was simple to get out our container and again reapply our brew.
Hope this may help some frustrated readers.
