Waikorire track is the only track closed on Mauao today.

A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says the track will be closed until 4pm today.

"Thank you to everyone for your cooperation as we work to upgrade the Waikorire track."

All of Mauao was closed on Wednesday and Thursday as helicopters were being used in the area to carry out maintenance works on the track.

All other tracks are reported to be open today.

Meanwhile, Papamoa Hills is expected to be closed tomorrow.

Poplar Lane and the car park for Papamoa Hills will be closed from 6am Saturday to 6pm on Sunday.

However, access to Papamoa Hills will continue to be possible via Reid Road.

This is to install three watermain road crossings.
