Tauranga woman Anna Stockman is the winner of the Tauranga City Council's Pollution Prevention Quiz after beating 300 other entrants for the top spot.

Anna says she is 'over the moon” at winning the quiz, which is run each year as part of the Sustainable Backyards initiative.

Council communications advisor Marcel Currin says Anna has won $800 worth of marine gear from Rutherford Marine Electrical.

Marcel says this year's online quiz drew attention to everyday pollution problems such as car wash soap suds entering stormwater drains.
