A three month pregnant woman blew almost three times the legal limit when she was breath tested by Tauranga Police during the Easter break.
The 22-year-old woman was one of 16 drink drivers caught during the Easter weekend, in which more than 4000 motorists were breath tested in the Western Bay of Plenty.

The woman blew 1143 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath – the legal limit is 400 micrograms per litre of breath.
Acting police traffic senior sergeant Mike Owen says one drink driver was caught twice and 11 road side drug screening tests were also administered, which three drivers failed.
Western Bay of Plenty Police impounded 21 cars in the weekend and issued a total of 203 speeding tickets.
Mike says overall driver behaviour on Western Bay of Plenty roads was responsible for the six days from Thursday, April 5 to today.
'What the guys are saying is behaviour was generally pretty good. People were taking a fair bit of responsibility and driving responsibly.”
Two crashes were reported in the Western BOP during Easter. On Sunday night a car went into a ditch on Te Puna Station Road, and on Monday a motorcycle and car collided on Pyes Pa Road near the cemetery roundabout.
The bike rider suffered leg injuries and was taken to Tauranga Hospital in a moderate condition.
No one is reported to have died on New Zealand roads this Easter, the lowest road toll recorded for the Easter period since 2003 when three people died on the roads.
Last year five people lost their lives in road crashes in NZ during the Easter weekend.

How irresponsible. This poor little soul is not having a good start to life and if the Mother is so irresponsible, it saddens me to think of the life it is being born in to.

imagine what the poor child is going to have to suffer through once it is born if she is treating the wee chilld like this before it is born

Sad, not really this is Horrific!!! Where was dad during this. No doubt the mother was brought up same way. You oxygen waster! Only positive here was that you were caught before hitting a paying tax payer though just as well as you will need as many tax payers alive to fund your sad a** and CYF child through life!
What sort of mother will she be?

Two disgraceful acts of stupidity and potential serious harm to others, including the poor child due to enter this world to the care of a totally irresponsible mother like this! God help the poor child.
