The Powerco Pedal Papamoa community cycling day is back for 2019, and this year you could win one of four brand new bikes and helmets. There are two adults and two children's bike worth $3,000 up grabs.
Pedal Papamoa is a community-driven, fun and free cycling event made for all ages, sizes and levels.
The event is taking place during the first weekend of the school holidays, on Sunday September 29, where there it will be a free family fun day of cycling along the stormwater trails in Papamoa/
'We are super excited for this year's event. We have had incredible support from the Papamoa business community and locals alike,” says event organiser Julia Manktelow.
'We are thrilled to have four brand new bikes to giveaway from My Ride Mount Maunganui, 500 Powerco backpacks, giveaways from local organisations and on top of that, a free Pedal Papamoa cap for the first 50 registrations on the day.
'The community vibe here in Papamoa is massive and I feel so honoured to be at the heart of it.”
Registrations open at 9.30am opposite the Papamoa Plaza. Entrants will be given an A5 flyer with a word fill to complete on their journey to go into the draw for one of the four brand new bikes.
They will visit seven pitstops along the Wairakei stormwater trail where they will receive goodies and a clue for their entry form. The turnaround point is Evans Road where they will then return to the Plaza.
After they have completed the trail, cyclists will then head to Papamoa Beach Tavern where they will receive a free brunch for their tribe, all for being a participant of Pedal Papamoa 2019.
This is a staggered start event so that entrants can take the trail at their own pace from any time between 10am and 12.30pm, and they can enjoy their free brunch anytime before 1pm as long as they have their entry band on.
The prize-giving will be held at Papamoa Beach Tavern at 1pm and all entrants wanting to win the bike must be there with their completed word fill to win one of the four bikes.
