Residents asked to aid Fiji flood appeal

Tauranga residents are being asked to give generously and buy a food parcel to help people affected by the Fijian floods.

Rotary in Fiji, in co-ordination with Rotary New Zealand, is providing immediate response to those severely affected by the recent and ongoing flooding.

Tauranga residents are being asked to donate to the Rotary appeal to help people affected by flooding in Fiji.

Rotarian Bob Niranjan is co-ordinating the response, organising the distribution of prepositioned emergency response kits, and assembling food parcels ready to be delivered to families and communities.

As part of that response, $40 food parcels are also being provided to Rotary on good faith by grocery merchants in Fiji.

Each parcel contains basic non-perishables that will feed a family of four for a week.

People are being asked to support this effort by making a donation to cover the cost of the food parcels, and other response efforts.

Donations can be made by contacting the Rotary New Zealand World Community Service through http://www.rnzwcs.org where there is a PayPal credit card facility and other donation details.
