The Interislander Summer Festival has been a must-do family event this summer for 13 years and it's returning to Tauranga on Wednesday January 2 2019, for an action packed day of fun in the sun.

The festival has something for everyone, with live music, tasty bites, all-day entertainment and exhilarating races.

This year's festival sees 29 races take place across the country from Whangarei Racing Club in the winterless north to Otago Racing Club in the breathtaking south.

Racing Tauranga spokesperson Kelly Bryant says the Interislander Summer Festival has grown in popularity year on year, establishing itself as a not-to-be missed event on the Tauranga calander.

'Tauranga residents look forward to the Interislander Summer Festival every year and this year is no exception.

'Heading to the races with friends and whanau has become a summer tradition here in Tauranga.”

The youngest race goers can expect activities ranging from bouncy castles and sack racing to junior fashion shows. The festival offers a full day of affordable entertainment with free entry for children under 18 and adult tickets from $10.
