With events kicking off in just about every corner of the city, there's never been a better time to stay right here in the Bay of Plenty over the summer holiday season.
One spot that's set to host some of the action is the Old Brewers Field in Mount Maunganui, which will be home to a series of summer events under the Mount Park brand.
The event series is the brainchild of Tauranga promoters and business partners Pato Alvarez and Mitch Lowe.
Now in its third year, Mount Park is one of many ways the pair are attempting to bring life to the Mount Maunganui area over summer.
'Mount Park is a brand and destination that Mitch and I created,” says Pato.
'Tauranga gets an influx of people over the summer period and we wanted to make sure there were events that people could attend.”
Pato says the Mount Park series slots well into the nationwide calendar of summer events, with many of the acts also touring around other New Zealand hot spots like Coroglen, Nelson and Hawkes Bay.
'We have four different events happening to cater to everyone's musical taste.
'There's Blindspott, for those who enjoy rock music; Katchafire and Kora, for those with Reggae roots; and SACHI, as well as Sticky Fingers, for the younger generation.”
The venue fits a capacity of between 3000-4000 people, making for a more relaxed and chilled out environment.
'This is one of my favourite venues to put on shows, the vibe is great and the location is good. Most people can walk to the venue.
'It's not as crowded as some of the other festivals happening in Tauranga over summer and a lot easier to manage.”
The Mount Park series will be hosted at Brewers Park 107 Newton Street, Mount Maunganui.
