The Te Puke swimming pool has closed due to a pump failure.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council closed the pool this morning and is investigating the best options for the repair or replacement of the pump.
The pump is used to circulate all the pool's water through the treatment and filtration system. Without the pump working the pool water quality becomes unsafe for use, says a council spokesperson.
"The pool will remain closed until further notice.
"Council apologises for this inconvenience and will update the situation when more is known regarding the pump repair."
