What’s On: Christmas Carnival and National Sevens

Get into the Christmas spirt at the Papamoa Christmas Carnival this afternoon.

Good Morning SunLive readers and welcome back to another sunny Sunday.

It's going to be another fine day today, with some evening cloud.

There will also be some light winds and some sea breezes.

Looking into tomorrow and Tuesday, tomorrow we will have some morning and evening cloud, otherwise it will be a fine day.

There is also a chance of an afternoon shower, with some light winds.

On Tuesday, there will be some morning cloud, then turning into a fine day with some westerly breezes.

Your high for today is 24 degrees with an overnight low of 17 degrees.

If you are looking for something to get you out and about today, there is plenty of events going on around the city to keep the family entertained.

If you're in the city centre, be sure to drop by the Tauranga Domain who will be hosting the TECT National Sevens all weekend long.

The two-day tournament kicked off on Saturday with the best 16 men's and 12 women's provincial teams contesting the iconic event first played for in 1975.

After five years hosted in Rotorua it is now Tauranga's opportunity to prove to NZ Rugby that this city is the ideal venue.

Some road closures are in place to note too: the Northbound lane on Cameron Road from Brown Street to McLean Street will be closed from 8am to 8pm:

If watching sevens isn't your thing or you want something to get you more into the Christmas spirt, head along to the Papamoa Christmas Carnival.

Being held at the Papamoa Plaza from 3.30pm to 6pm this afternoon, the free event will have amusement rides, entertainers, face painters, plus loads more exciting activities.

The last Historic Village Market is also on today, and at 11am, Selvedge Boutique are hosting ‘Frock it with Love'.

They will have five of their handmade vintage dresses up for auction, with money raised going to Breast Cancer support service Tauranga.
