Good Morning SunLive readers and welcome back to another rainy and windy start to the second day of summer.

There is a lot of debris and surface water out on the roads today, so if you are out and about please drive with caution.

Looking at the weather for today, there will be periods of rain with the chance of them being possibly heavy.

The forecast issued by MetService says rain will be easing in the evening.

We are looking at a high of 22 degrees and an overnight low of 16 degrees.

The weather has also forced a lot of events to be postponed with the Tauranga Historic Village Lion's market being postponed until next Sunday.

The Night Owl Cinema screening of The Grinch who stole Christmas being held at Our Place, has also been cancelled.

One event that is still going ahead is The Classic Builders Tinman Triathlon which started at 7am this morning.

The event kicks off at Pilot Bay with plenty of competitors who have already made it into the water.
