It was a busy evening yesterday, with thousands of people turning out to watch the fireworks display at St Mary's Fireworks Gala.

SunLive photographer Cameron Avery went along to capture all the fun, and says that there were at least four thousand people attending.

'I was talking to one of the firefighters who was there and they said that five thousand last year, and it was busier this year.”

'The field was absolutely packed with kids and families.”

'The streets were packed all the way to 15^th Ave with cars.”

'The display went on for about 15 minutes. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it.”
