Free Rotorua buses during Royal visit

Residents in Rotorua will be able to catch free buses when the Royals visit on October 31.

Rotorua residents will be able to catch free buses and maybe a glimpse of Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle as part of the Royal visit to the city on October 31.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend the day in Rotorua visiting various sights in the city.

Bay of Plenty Regional Council Public Transport Chairman Lyall Thurston says as well as a free bus on the day, a Park and Ride service will also be available.

'People will be able to park at Rotorua Racecourse with buses taking them to the Sir Howard Morrison Performance Centre in the CBD from Midday,” says Lyall.

'The last bus will return to the racecourse from the centre at 5pm.”

Lyall says it's important to give everyone the chance to be involved in what will be an historic day for Rotorua.
