Te Puke residents have had the opportunity to get a glimpse into its local Sikh community.
Around 800 Sikhs from throughout the North Island attended the town's first-ever Sikh parade.
The event departed the Gurudwara temple on No 3 Road at 11am before making its way along Jellicoe Street to Jubilee Park and involved displays of traditional music alongwith kirpan (the sword or small dagger carried by Sikhs).
SunLive photographer Nikki South went along to capture the day.
