Two male offenders are being sought in relation to an aggravated burglary in Papamoa this morning.

Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier says the incident happened on Waterford Park Drive in Papamoa at about 4am.

"Police are also appealing for more information about cars stolen from the property.

"Initial enquiries have established the two male offenders were specifically targeting this address.

"For that reason, there is no need for members of the public to be alarmed following this incident.

"The offenders left the scene in a 2011 black Holden Commodore and a 1998 Silver BMW.

"Police believe people may have seen these vehicles travelling in convoy between Waterford Park Drive and Mount Maunganui between 4.30 and 5am."

Anyone who has seen the vehicles, or has other information which may assist with the Police investigation, is encouraged to ring Tauranga Police immediately on 577 4300.

Information can also be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
