Police investigate aggravated burglary in Papamoa

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary at a home on Waterford Park Drive, Papamoa.

Two male offenders entered the property, one armed with an axe and the other with a crowbar, and assaulted a male and female occupant at around 4:30am today.

Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier says they received minor injuries but did not require ambulance treatment.

"The offenders then stole two cars from the property and left in them," says Darryl.

"These vehicles have since been recovered nearby and are being examined. CIB are investigating this incident.

"A scene examination is underway at the property and enquiries are being made to locate the two male offenders.

"Police are ensuring the man and woman who were at home at the time of the incident are supported."

Surely the police can publish the rego numbers of both cars and locate them through social media. The public would rally to this.
