Police are on the hunt for a man with links to the Tauranga area.

In a post on the Waikato Police Facebook page, police are appealing for any information about the whereabouts of Pira Angus Kino.

He is wanted for an assault, says police.

Kino is 24-years-old, is 180cm tall and is of slim build.

Police say he is from Thames but with recent links to Tauranga.

If anyone has seen him or has any information about his whereabouts, they are asked to contact their nearest police station.
