The 29-year-old Northland man will appear in Tauranga District Court today on a charge of aggravated burglary.

The burglary happened at about 4am on Friday when three armed men approached an address in Valley Road, Mount Maunganui.

'Three men carrying weapons ran from the house and got into a car.”

A chase was initiated, the men changed cars, before eventually fleeing on foot.
