What’s On? Weddings & Clothes Swap

What a beautiful bride and groom. Check out the Bay of Plenty Wedding Show today if you want to be equally photogenic on your wedding day. File photo.

Good morning, steadfast SunLive readers, and welcome to Sunday.

It never ceases to give me pleasure, informing you of what is happening in this fine city of ours.

But first: the weather. The MetService is forecasting ‘long fine spells' punctuated by the odd shower. With a high of only 18 degrees, it appears winter is finally upon us, so be sure to pack a coat and perhaps even a scarf if you're out and about today.

For those of you in love, and considering a ceremony in front of friends and family to let everyone know just how much you love your partner and want to be with them forever and ever, the Bay of Plenty Wedding Show is on from 10am at ASB Arena.

'Imagine a one-stop-shop for everything you need for the most important day of your life! Come and experience the fun, the excitement and the glamour at the Bay of Plenty's No.1 Wedding Show!” says the blurb on the Facebook event.

The event features more than 100 exhibitors with everything from wedding gowns, jewellery, hair & make-up, photographers, venues & caterers, cake designers, transport and more on offer. Tickets are $15, with door sales available.

Can't find someone who wants to formalise their romantic commitment to you in a legal arrangement? Don't worry, you can cheer yourself up by swapping clothes. The Wharf Community House (on Wharf Street) is hosting a clothes swap from 1pm. Just bring along some winter clothes you're not keen to wear anymore, and swap them with someone who has some clothes you like. It's that simple, and what's more, it's free.
