What’s On? Anzac Day

Good morning, SunLive readers, and welcome to Anzac Day 2018.

As you would expect, this morning is all about remembering the many wars and conflicts New Zealanders have served in, and the lives lost.

For those of you who couldn't make it to a dawn service, Tauranga's official Anzac Day Civic Service will be held at 9am on at Memorial Park, Tauranga, commemorating 103 years since the Battle of Gallipoli.

In the event of inclement weather, the civic memorial service will be held in the Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre and the parade will not take place.

Free Park and Ride services will be available for the Tauranga Civic Memorial Service and the Mount Maunganui Dawn Service.

The free Park and Ride service for Tauranga's Memorial Civic Service will be available from Tauranga Boys' College on Devonport Road to Memorial Park between 8am and 8.40am, with returning buses immediately following the Civic Memorial Service.

There is no additional car parking at Memorial Park, however PAK'n SAVE located on Cameron Road, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, have made their above ground car park available for people attending the Anzac Day Civic Memorial Service. Car parking for mobility cardholders ONLY will be available outside the Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre.

There will also be another service at the Mount Cenotaph, opposite Mount Drury, at 9.30am. Elsewhere in the Western Bay of Plenty, services will be held at Te Puke War Memorial Hall at 10am, and at Katikati Memorial Square from 10am.
