Cannabis plants located in BOP forest

Bay of Plenty Police have made further arrests and located around 100 cannabis plants as part of ongoing enquiries into the illegal drug trade in the region.

Staff discovered the large number of cannabis plants in the Matahina Forest area near Kawerau today, while two men, aged 33 and 60-years-old, were also arrested in Whakatane.

They will be appearing in Rotorua District Court tomorrow on charges including supplying, possession for supply and offering to supply methamphetamine.

Thirty-four people were arrested yesterday, which brings the total number of arrests so far to 36.
