Two treated after Opotiki house fire

An ambulance was called for two people suffering smoke inhalation after a house fire in rural Opotiki overnight.

Nearly half the 50x10m building was fully involved when firefighters arrived at the Dip Road property after 12.30am, says Fire and Emergency NZ northern communications centre shift manager Megan Ruru today.

In Greerton, firefighters were called to a car fire in Valley View Road Lower Kaimai at 11.30pm.

'The vehicle was fully involved when fire fighters arrived,” says Megan.
