A 37-year-old woman has been arrested following an assault in Greerton.

Emergency services were called to a property in Mansels Road at 6.15am.

A police spokesperson says they received reports of a serious assault and a breach of the peace.

"St John paramedics were also called to the scene."

The spokesperson says a man and a woman are believed to be involved in the assault.

A 55-year-old man was treated at Tauranga Hospital and was expected to be discharged today, says a spokesperson.
