Simon Bridges has been announced as the new National Party leader.
Paula Bennett has retained her role as deputy. A photo posted on the National Party Facebook page shows the two of them together down the walls of parliament.
I'm honoured to be elected as @NZNationalParty Leader today - it's an enormous privilege. My focus will be on presenting an ambitious and strong alternative Government heading into 2020. https://t.co/IHUNNviae1

The Nats wags have just shot themselves in both feet .The good news is these turkeys cannot win the 2020 Elections, will not remain Nats leaders for 5 1/2 years and therefore will never be NZ Prime Minister.Whoopee Do lets wait for new blood to come through with a proper plan it can't get any worse.L.O.L

Exactly what this country needs to lead the National party to govern this country next election. A married family man with children and excellent morals in these selfish greedy times-he is a role model that will lead by example and support growth not give hand outs to those who are too lazy to work...

Why chose some one who will end up looking like a joke after Winston has finished with him.
The bridges show

I for one will be getting the popcorn to watch this show..not only does Simon 10 Bridges not keep his election promises but shows he is out of his depth, shouts, blusters, spin superficial arguments and attempts to divert when questioned on issues such as Texas oil companies coming to NZ for deep sea exploration....if Mr 10 Bridges has his way it won't be long before Anadarko is off the coast of Tauranga.
