Police have confirmed that the body found in Rototuna on Saturday is that of Raymond Stirling.

The 84-year-old, who suffers from dementia, has been missing since he left his Halcione Close home on Monday, January 15.

The body was found by a member of a search party out looking for Stirling in the Rototuna area.

In a statement released today, police have confirmed that the body is Raymond's.

'Police's thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

'His death has been referred to the Coroner.”
