Two water mains broke in the Otumoetai area causing some water discolouration to the network this morning.

Tauranga City Council posted on Facebook last night that two water breaks had effected some houses in Bellevue, Otumoetai and Matua.

Maintenance contractors were on the scene shortly after to repair the water mains and preformed a mains flushing to get rid of the discoloured water.

'Our contractor has undertaken mains flushing through the system, but there may still be some discolouration in the network.

'If you still find you have discoloured water, we encourage you to run your outside tap for about 15 minutes or until it clears.”

The Council says if you are still having issues with your water contact their call centre on 07 577 7000.

is disgusting..we have lived here for neally 3 years and the water is putrid. We have always had a metal taste in our water and always white/cloudy. We pay for water that is not enjoyable to drink. I know stuff happens but running our taps cost us.
