Cocaine, cash and contraband seized

Police have seized cocaine, cash and drug related items from a property in Te Aroha.

Waikato Police have arrested five men today after carrying out a number of searches in the town earlier today.

The searches are a part of an operation targeting active offenders in the area.

A 32-year old man has been arrested and charged with selling drugs, possession of a class B controlled drug and possession of utensils for the consumption of methamphetamine.

He will appear in the Morrinsville District Court on the September 27.

A 21-year-old man has also arrested at the address in relation to an outstanding warrant.

A further six searches were carried out in the town and three men were arrested for outstanding warrants to arrest and various dishonesty offences, says Detective Sergeant Will Loughrin.

Road Policing staff are also in the area targeting 'high risk” driving behaviours in particular speed, restraints, cell phone use and impaired driving.

Will says he would like to thank the community for all their help and support.

'Today was a combined effort involving local staff, the Armed Offenders Squad, public support unit and road policing staff.”
