Three-car crash in Omokoroa

Two people have been injured in a three-car crash in the Western Bay of Plenty.

St John Paramedics notified police of the crash at the intersection of Omokoroa Road and Margaret Drive, at about 8pm.

A police spokesperson says one person suffered moderate injuries and one suffered minor injuries.

'The road was blocked while the scene was cleared.” Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

A person who emailed SunLive overnight says two cars were racing when one car crashed as a vehicle came out of a driveway.

Another person who emailed in believed one of the vehicles may have caught fire as there was foam on the road and firefighters at the scene when she drove past at 9.25pm.

People with information about the crash, and haven't already spoken with police, can contact their nearest police station.
