Outdoor movies continue to delight

A popular summertime activity was held in two Tauranga neighbourhoods on Saturday night.

At Mount Maunganui the Aoteoroa Film Festival was back for another year screening 'Distance between Dreams' and short films at Mount Drury.

At The Lakes, the public were encouraged to bring chairs, beanbags and blankets to watch Pete's Dragon at Kiokio Reserve. Pre-film entertainment included Flip Out Trampoline Arena and Hans Kraenzlin performing before nightfall.

The free outdoor screening of films across Tauranga is attracting hundreds of people to come together and enjoy food and live music. And once dusk settles and the stars came out, movie magic begins.

On April 7, Mount Drury will be the location for the launch of the Youth Innovation Awards with the public invited to see an outdoor screening of Moana.

On April 8, The Jungle Book will be shown in Sydenham Park, Brookfield and will include entertainment by Tauranga Samba, a local kapa haka group and a Burma trail organised by local Scouts.
