The funeral procession travelling through Tauranga.

Where's the helmets ??
Posted on 10-08-2011 15:15 | By mik elliri
The Police could have made a few dollars today for the govt coffers if those that weren't wearing helmets were fined, typical - one rule for some and another for others - it would appear they are too scared and will only abide by the rules with people they are not intimidated by or they think they can do this to. It's not good enough....
helmets

We watched them parade in all their glory thru Greerton, members blocking the intersections to allow the convoy thru, 1 in 5 had no helmets and seatbelts were an optional extra, the Greerton station had police standing outside watching this happen What would they do if I rode without my seatbelt, no helmet and just stopped traffic for my mates to get where they want to go a bit quicker What do you think ? should we all join a gang so we are exempt from police taxing ?
Posted on 10-08-2011 16:35 | By labjnz
if they had pulled them up and fined them during a ride for one of there members who passed away it would have probaly caused alot more hastle so i don't think it was cause they felt intimadated it was probly more the fact that they were being smart and wanted it o go as smothly as possible

i agree, if i have to wear a helmet, then so should everyone else who rides a bike.

Who Cares! if your loved one passed away, you would do the same...i know i did. Lou loved his bike and his family. Louie was loved by so many people, this young boy wasn't just in a gang, he was so much more. the cops did a great job at all intersection helping - hats off you them. Louie you had a great send off! you will never be forgotten!! XX
Show some respect
Posted on 10-08-2011 17:33 | By leebee
Show some respect, LC was someones partner, Father, Son & Brother etc, what the boys choose to do is up to them, not one of them was speeding to get anywhere faster this was a slow convoy behind the hearse. The only reason any of you have a problem is the fact its the filthy few, I bet none of you would have the balls to confront any of them.
Dont be misserable buggas....

Let them to greive the loss of someones Son, Brother , Father The Police can start the battle again tomorrow
Are you serious?
Posted on 10-08-2011 18:07 | By 63belair
This young man was someones grandson, son, brother, partner and father. So what if they weren't wearing helmets, I'm sure there would be public outrage if a police officer ticketed a car with a broken tail-light that was following a hearse with a greiving family member inside, come on have some compassion do you really think they were worried about helmets and seatbelts on a day like today. They weren't hurting anyone, they were just hurting. RIP Louie xx

OMG -I cant believe people can be so small minded. I attended this funeral today and felt nothing but pure respect for the Filthy Few Motor Cycle Club who gave Lou a awesome send off today. If these guys weren't wearing patches would you still make those same comments?

You are all right, it was someone's son, brother, loved one and have seen it before. Hats off to the Police for taking the initiative to avoid any stress at this time.

i think some of the low lifes that have been leaving bad comments should F off if you have a problem with this then mind your own buisness!! find something better to bi**h about i bet if he were one of your family members and was in a gang you would have been all for it its not every day that someone passes like that if you have nothing positive to say about the matter say nothing at all!!!! geez it was about 1hour max for a good cause and still some di**s wanna have a cry.....get over yourselvs! good on the cops for doing what they did! rest easy louie x
Why?
Posted on 10-08-2011 23:31 | By Gary gc
Think we are all missing point here folks. Simply what makes the filthy few different for them to ride without helmets? Exactly.. One rule one people anyday everyday! End of story. It is because of this attitude by the few that they act the way they do and don't conform to everyday living or society. Sad.

I must admit it was the first time that i had any association with the Filthy Few, and i have now the upmost respect for them. They gave Loui the greatest send off. xox

This very special & loved by all whom met him young man, lost his life tragically last week. His club, his family, his friends, showed how much they love him & how much he will be missed. Louis contributed to everyone he met & everthing he did, during his life. Whatever you have to say will never cheapen the love & aroha we all feel for Louis. Love & Brotherhood is forever. Ask yourself, would you be shown respect & love in the way Louis has & will continue to be remembered. If not, try looking at your life & try living as a better person, starting with desisting on leaving negative comments when people are mourning.

No Gary gc I think it is you who is missing the point mate. The send off for Loui was touching and inspiring. It is great how overwhelmed the small amount of whingers are by Loui and his families supporters. Mind your own business! It would be an awfully dull world if everybody conformed to "everyday living or society". My respect and sympathy to all those who are hurting from their loss. By the way the police did an excellent job. R.I.P Loui and right behind you all the way Anna xxx

No Gary gc I think it is you who is missing the point mate. The send off for Loui was touching and inspiring. The world would be an exceptionally dull place if we all conformed to 'everyday living and society”. It is times like these that really open our eyes to that. It's great how overwhelmed the few whingers are by the amazing support for Loui, his family and his friends. Mind your own business! The police were commendable in their handling of the event. Much respect and sympathy to everybody who is mourning from such a great loss. R.I.P Loui and behind you all the way Anna xx

Though I didn't know Louis very well he had a kind soul, that I could tell To me a quiet man with a cheeky grin not always showing the man within In his family he'll leave a hole never filled Though the grief that is deep will someday be stilled He was far too young to leave this life Never getting the chance to make Anna his wife His babies will grow not knowing their dad and that is just incredibly sad But stories of Louis will make him real and they'll help the broken hearts to heal He left too eary, but aren't you glad he was here that he's somewhere safe, have no fear Though his body is gone, his soul never will the memories of him will live on still On the bike that he loved, Louis passed away it was his time to go, there was no other way Say goodbye to this man, forever a friend and know that for Louis this is not the end Send him a prayer if you do indeed pray wish him a safe journey on his way..

To all these people that have nothing better to do but moan about these guys wearing no helmets....get a freaking life will ya! These men & women just buried their loved one, everyone has different ways of conducting funerals, why shouldnt they be aloud to do it "their way" they arnt hurting anyone! so leave them alone and let them greive, i am astonished that people will even moan about the way a funeral is conducted, just shows how many a**holes are in our town aye...
grow up
Posted on 11-08-2011 12:39 | By gubbys
ive been to a funeral before for a motor cycle racer, and all the mates on their flash road bikes did a ride by slowly with no helmets. no one was arrested or hurt and they are not in a gang. so grow up there is no different law for gangs as us. respect the dead people and grow up. have you ever spoken to a member of the Filthy Few? Some work on building sites i have been too and they are actually really nice guys (they are just people at the end of the day)
Posted on 11-08-2011 12:42 | By Matt
The stages of a Sunlive atricle and response thread. 1. OMG someone's breaking the law the Police should do what we pay them to do!!! 2. Indignant replies as there was a reason for breaking the law and as there's a reason it's all good chap. 3. (Forthcoming I'm sure of it)OMG how could the Police set up an "operation" and sting those poor bereaved nice motorcycle people. Haven't Police got anything better to do like catch criminals??!!!? 4. Subsequent article - Crime was down in wider BOP on 10 August.
Why all this fuss..
Posted on 11-08-2011 13:06 | By Upstandingcitizen
Why is it that a GANG MEMBERs funeral is given all off this publicity? What about the GOOD people in the community that quietly have a funeral yet they are far better people than someone in/involved in a gang. Just need to read the comments from the supporters of this to see the fine examples they are. Get a bit off class, if you want respect show respect.
To Upstandingcitizen....
Posted on 11-08-2011 13:30 | By Donnaw
So you saying a GANG MEMBER does not deserve the funeral he would have wanted....How dare you!.....I am not a gang member and dont have anything to do with them....BUT...they deserve the right to do things their way and its people like you that make my skin crawl....and people like you deserve no respect at all....so get off your hugh horse and think about the fact that this person has a family....do you feel better now that you have just made your disgusting comment....!
rip lou dawg
Posted on 11-08-2011 14:19 | By locolaura
what makes any of you people moaning any better than any1 else? who's ta say these men are any less of a person because they were a patch? louie was an amazing guy and it was a priveledge to have known him. the fact that there was a huge number of motorcycles attending this funeral would have gained xtra public attention regardless of whether the media was around to capture it. Im sure louie is looking down laughing at all you pathetic people getting your undies in a twist over a friggen helmet or ten missing. May you rest in peace ma bro! much love
Posted on 11-08-2011 15:02 | By s.harty
Upstandingcitizen- how much of a "GOOD" person are you for kicking others while they're down and judging a book by it's cover? Louie was a GREAT man, he touched the lives of many people by being the great man he is! I wish that you never know the pain of losing someone you deeply love, or having to lose a parent before really even knowing them. If you don't like the publicity it's getting, then don't read it - SIMPLE. Obviously you're the one who needs to "get a little bit of class"
Narrow Minded
Posted on 11-08-2011 15:48 | By c.lang
Maybe all you narrow minded IDIOTS should look past the fact that he wore a patch... He was a lover, a father, a friend. Because someone wears a patch they are a bad person? Please.. If we all conformed to your interpretation of an upstanding citizen what a boring world we would live in. You are worried about a helmet?? Imagine the riot that would be caused if the police had of stopped a funeral procession??!! Regardless of what patch these people are wearing... what Uproar would be caused if a "GOOD" and "NORMAL" person's funeral procession went through an RBT and everyone was stopped. The police aren't idiots. They knew that a man was just about to be laid to rest. I never met Louie. Nor did I have an association with the Filthy Few. I know he made Anna a very, VERY happy woman, and I know that he was an amazing father, albeit by taking on a child that was not his own blood who was killed tragically on his way home to see his fiancé and kids... So next time you idiots want to judge a book by its cover, I suggest you sit down, shut the F*** up and keep your ridiculous opinions to yourself...

Before you call yourself an upstanding citizen, learn the difference between off and of. Sounds like someone's a little jelly they don't get the publicity at their own funeral. How materialistic. Not classy. Compassion is class.
Some people need to just butt right out.

Annalearmonth ignore what these small minded people have to say, I didn't personally know Louis but I had seen him around, and he was my brothers brother so to speak so I have nothing but the up most respect for him. I am so sorry for you loss

RIP LC Point wasn't directed at funeral but those breaking the law and putting themselves and others consciences at risk. Don't hate the player hate the game. Attitude means all and helmetless and riding in convoy double breasted passing on open road non passing lines goes hand in hand. Safety first.

@Upstandingcitizen This MAN's funeral has been given publicity because it is a beautiful thing to see such a large number of people wearing their heart on their sleeves, and celebrating the life of a young man in public. What kind of person are you that seeing the community come together in an amazing show of respect, enrages you so much that you get on the computer and type a snippy email that you know will offend people who are grieving and upset? The fact it got publicity has nothing to do with the fact they are Gang Members. It would have been given the same amount of publicity if it was a cop's funeral and there was a convoy of that many police on the road. Or for that matter if it was anybody's funeral and there was such a huge public display of love and respect. People show respect in different ways. Just because you would rather sit at home typing nasty messages from behind the safety of your computer screen, doesn't mean the rest of us are so spineless. Hardly being classy or showing respect is it? Yet you sit there and tell us to ‘get a bit of class'? Louis is the epitome of a good person. What right do you have to judge someone you have NEVER met. And judge him, no less, by nothing but the patch he happens to wear. If you insist on being so crass and judging a complete stranger then why haven't you labeled him as a ‘good father', a ‘loving partner', or a ‘wonderful friend'? And yes I agree with @AG, for someone so full of class, your grammar is a joke. @All the rest of you harping on about the helmets New Zealanders love to cover themselves in bubble wrap. In the UK it is YOUR choice to wear a helmet and the police spend their time sorting out the real problems. What will be next, wearing a helmet 24/7 so we don't get hit by a piece of falling scaffolding, or slip in the shower and knock our head? We all make our own choices. If it isn't affecting you, or hurting you, then keep your ******* nose out of it. These people were putting themselves at risk, no one else. Sure I agree with adults making kids wear helmets and seatbelts. And if people want to take measures to protect themselves, then that's fair, but those adults who don't, shouldn't be forced too. All in all, the governments failings, and societies mess, has NOTHING to do with this funeral, and this loss of life. The fact that Lou's partner has to come on here and read whiney comments from horrible people is disgusting. Do you think a cop is reading this? Do you think the government is monitoring all these comments you make? Do you think you are making yourself heard writing on this website? Do you think you have done ANYTHING just now other than upset a young lady, family and friends of a man they have just had to lay to rest? I am all for freedom of speech, but this is disgusting. Go get yourself a picket or something.

Well thought out comment zee. People are welcome to voice their opinion. The issue is the helmets it seems not the stage they were used in so out emotion aside and see the reasoning of why people feel strong about this. It's the law so if you feel strong then you try running the country and footing the bill for any potential incidents from such behaviour.
