‘A community is much like a ship; everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm,' wrote Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen in 1882.
In the latest Whitianga Police Report sergeant Andrew Morrison says it was good to see the community coming together to help look after each other during last week's weather emergency.
'Coroglen residents especially checked on each other and helped to clear access, especially in the Rangihau Road area which was severely affected.
'Often we are able to access help for people in need during emergencies so please let us or the council know if you need assistance.”
