Police are on the hunt for a teenager they believe is actively avoiding them.

Bay of Plenty Police are trying to locate Jenifer Whakatihi and a warrant for her arrest has been issued.

The 17-year-old may possibly be in the Opotiki or Whakatane area.

'She has a Warrant to arrest issued by the court and is wanted to interview by Police on theft matters,” says Sergeant Dale Alison.

Anyone with information on her current whereabouts are asked to call their nearest police Station or Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.
