Two Bay of Plenty homes have been gutted following a fire which is being treated as suspected arson.
Firefighters were called to the properties in Te Kaha just before 6.30am.

A Northern Fire Communications spokesperson says firefighters found two homes burnt to the ground.
The dwellings were located 80 metres from each other. It's unclear how the fires were started.
An investigation has been launched, and police and the fire safety investigator are examining the scene this morning.
