Have your say on Civic Heart project

Tauranga City Council is giving the community several opportunities to discuss proposed changes to its Long Term Plan from today.

Two Civic Heart community events will be taking place in Tauranga's Red Square, with the first taking place on Tuesday, from 12.15pm to 2pm, and then again on Friday, from 10.30am to 1pm.

The upcoming events are part of council's public consultation on creating Tauranga's civic heart.

Elected members and council staff will also be attending community events in Papamoa, Fraser Cove, and the Bethlehem town centre on the following days:

  • PAPAMOA PLAZA – Wednesday, July 6, from 9am to 4pm.
  • FRASER COVE (near The Warehouse) – Thursday, July 7, from 10am to 2pm
  • BETHLEHEM TOWN CENTRE – Tuesday, July 12, from 10.30am to 2pm.

A Civic Heart community event had been planned to take place at Red Square on June 29 but was cancelled due to wet weather.

Members of the community can make a submission on council's long term plan either online or by downloading a submission form from: www.tauranga.govt.nz/ltpa

Hard copies of the Consultation Document and submission form are also available to be viewed at all Tauranga City Libraries and from council's customer service centre on Willow Street.

Public consultation closes at 5pm on Monday, July 18.

How many times have Ratepayers voiced the opinion they don't want a Museum in the middle of town

100% of the time, however there is a very small group who "desire" it.
