'McLaren Falls Road was closed on Friday (at short notice) but open over the weekend,” says a statement from the council.

'The road, between the State Highway 29 and McLaren Falls Bridge, has closed again from 9am this morning and is expected to remain closed all day.

'Now that work has started again the job will need to be either finished today or left at a safe stage to leave for tomorrow.”

Pongakawa Bush Road is currently is still closed to the public.

Council advises that a single lane is passable for high clearance vehicles only.

'Work is continuing with the expectation the road can re-open to all traffic late this week.”
