Maori Party co-leader Te Ururoa Flavell has issued the latest wero (challenge) known as the ‘Running Man'.
Te Ururoa got his grandchildren involved in the dance craze hitting the country and shimmied the floor in his socks at his home in Rotorua.

The Minister of Maori Affairs laid down some smooth moves and posted the video on Friday, challenging his co-leader Marama Fox and all Maori members of Parliament. He has even laid down the challenge to American President Barack Obama to complete it.
Running Man Challenge was started by two high-schoolers in New Jersey, USA about two weeks ago. But it became popular in New Zealand after the police put a recruitment video out challenging other police around the world.
Since its release, the video has gone viral with more than 24 million views. Even our sporting stars are jumping on the bandwagon with the New Zealand women's sevens team posting a video.
Te Ururoa blends in dance moves with kapa haka actions like the pukana, with impressive results. The video starts off with Te Ururoa at home with his family. The children, who are sitting on the couch, breakout into a dance. The MP slides from the kitchen into the lounge to join them.
Also joining Te Ururoa is his wife, who makes an appearance from the bedroom holding a baby and joins in on the festivities. After a 30 second dance off, the family casually return to what they were doing.
Te Ururoa told media he and his staff had been watching the progress of the craze on Facebook and decided they should give it a go. The video has had more than 7000 views.
