Water will be shut off in Omokoroa from 10.30pm on May 11.
The Western Bay of Plenty District Council is planning on shutting down water in the area to allow a new subdivision in Kayelene Place to be connected to council's water supply.
All properties north of Omokoroa railway line will be affected, says a statement from the council.
Water will be off from 10.30pm to 5am the following day.
'Residents are advised to plan ahead by having drinking water stored prior to the shut down and to flush their taps following the shutdown to ensure any trapped air is released.
'Water may appear cloudy after but will still be safe to drink. '
A notice board on Omokoroa Road has more information regarding the shutdown.
People can also contact the council on 07 571 8008.
