Jack's Point ramp at Patukirikiri Reserve in Coromandel Town has been closed temporarily due to safety concerns around boat launching at the facility.
The Coromandel Harbour and Boating Association expressed concerns to council about people stepping off the end of the ramp and getting stuck in mud and sediment which has built up.

Coromandel Area Manager Greg Hampton says safety signage and a temporary barrier has been installed which stops people launching from Jacks Point ramp.
'A report will go to the Coromandel-Colville Community Board's May meeting outlining the issues and options for addressing those concerns,” says Greg.
'This includes potentially dredging around the ramp as well as looking at costs of extending the ramp.”
