Another secret meeting

Mt Hot Pools – Does the Consent process work?
At another secret meeting last week at TCC the consent decision on the Mount Hot Pools massage rooms is being appealed, this project has little to do with ‘pools'.
Among the 20 objectors were: two council staff (city planners) and Cr Catherine Stewart that spoke at the RMA hearing. Only two people supported this project neither showed up.
As Catherine objected to this project Mayor Crosby asked her to leave the secret meeting because she had a ‘conflict of interest'? Deputy Mayor David Stewart was not asked to leave the meeting even though he is a director of TCAL (applying for consent).
Commissioners - The public should know that TCC: Own 100% of TCAL; Pays millions to run the pools annually; Appoint all nine commissioners and pay them; David Stewart is a Commissioner;
Staff pick who is the commissioner; A Council planner (staff) must approve and sign the 'the independent commissioners” findings before printing.
As Catherine Stewart was asked to leave the meeting then so should all of the Councilors, staff etc, the Council ineffectively: Judge, jury, executioner, employer, borrower and everything else here. Where really is the ‘Conflict of interest?'
When in council I tried very hard to change this council practice but was blocked by a number of councillors that where employed as commissioners one of those Deputy Major David Stewart.

Having taken my cue from our Tauranga Councillors , I've chosen to keep my views on this matter a secret.

'When in council I tried very hard to change this council practice but was blocked by a number of councillors that where employed as commissioners one of those Deputy Major David Stewart.' This a rather interesting comment from Mr Evans, considering from earlier articles about him whilst in Council, he was given the opportunity to be a 'Commissioner', though chose not to even complete the training to be one!!! It really sounds like a seriously bad case of sour grapes and the throwing of his toys from the cot on his behalf. But then again it is always everybody elses fault but his when things don't go his way...

Yes Deputy Mayor David Stewart as a director of TCAL and a TCC Councillor had a complete & serious conflict of interest on the Mount Hotpools and should have been excluded from the Council meeting discussing this matter by his mentor Mayor Crosby along with Councillor Cath Stewart.He was not ejected and that sends a clear message to the Tauranga public about these individuals who couldn't it seems care less about their obligations

Welcome back, you have been in hiding for over six months? Does that mean you have finished licking your wounds ... have they healed or what!

Looks like one of the 'silent' ones is back online, or perhaps back from a slumber while still being paid by the TURKEYS. DEPUTY DAVE IS BACK AGAIN.
