More warning on crossing danger

Yet again I find myself wondering when someone is going to be injured or worse, killed at the pedestrian crossing outside Bethlehem Primary School. The Police were at the crossing last week, and witnessed the arrogance of some drivers using this road.
If the drivers who refuse to adhere to the 40km speed limit are so intent on doing so, then they should be prepared to be responsible for the injuries or even death of those using the crossing.
There have been instances where adults and children have nearly been hit whilst using the crossing. I, myself was nearly hit yesterday afternoon.
The driver of the car involved was either under the influence, or shouldn't be behind the wheel. She had no intention of stopping for me when I was on the pedestrian crossing.
Please, SLOW DOWN around schools! Children of this age are unable to correctly perceive speed. Would you be able to live with yourself if you injured or killed a child?
If you are so busy you cannot slow down for such a short period of time when driving past schools, then take a look at your life, you obviously need to make changes!

Challenge to the anonymous caller

I challenge the anonymous caller who left a message on my answerphone regarding the crossing, to leave your contact details so we can have a chat about your grievances. I, personally dont have a problem with the colour of the children using the crossing as you appear to have, all children/adults regardless of age, race or belief deserve the same respect! Your other gripe regarding the closure of Carmichael Rd makes no difference to the crossing situation, other than you would be stopping for the crossing in Carmichael Rd to let children cross the road, not the crossing along Bethlehem Rd. I am thankful we dont all have the attitude of the anonymous caller, what a miserable and callous world we would live in if we did!
