Reason for meters to restrict use

Would Jan Hill believe me if I said that the main reason for water metering was to restrict the amount of water everyone used and therefore delay building a new water treatment plant at Te Puke.
We Mounties pushed for metering because we knew they worked. Can anyone remember when we last had water restrictions over the summer?

METERS AND RATES

The only reason for meters is to be able to collect more revenue for COuncil coffers but not on your rates bill, imagine adding your rates bill + water together, that would add say $300-600pa to your rates. The idea is to soften the blow spread it all out etc. Saving water is not the idea, in fact the more water you use the happier council will be becasue that means you are more dependant on them, they charge more, build more, and have even more staff all of which makes City Council HQ happier every day.
