I was interested to read an article in The Weekend Sun of 25 March: Dose of the humble egg by Dr Anna Rolleston from the Cardiac Clinic. Dr Rolleston's article is short of the facts about eggs.
She made no mention of the fact that eggs from caged hens have 19 times more omega 6 to omega 3 EFA's. This means it is far better for our health to pay extra and buy free range eggs that have a healthy balance of omega 3 to omega 6 EFA's. As for her information on saturated fats and cholesterol, I suggest that she looks up: Saturated Fats are Good for You - by Uffe Ravnskov - MD... Many scientific studies have shown that the Western diet is far too high in omega six fatty acids from manufactured vegetable oils and should be around one to one, omega 3 to omega 6, not to mention trans fats, and that the misinformation on saturated fats and cholesterol peddled by Western medicine is dangerous to our health.
